Bryson DeChambeau has a need for speed. On an ordinary weekend, that’s ball speed, but on Sunday, the two-time major champion experienced a different kind of acceleration when he enjoyed a 180-mph joyride in a two-seat Indy car at the Indianapolis 500. Buckle up, folks.

It’s surprising the self-avowed science nerd says he “hated rollercoasters growing up,” but perhaps this weekend’s hot lap unlocked his inner adrenaline junkie.
“Going around the track was actually insane,” he said. “It’s a rollercoaster, but way faster and lower to the ground … the G-forces are just incredible.”
Bryson DeChambeau analyses G-forces instead of spin rate. Go ahead and check that one off your 2025 golf bingo card.
The ride-along wasn’t the only hi-jinks the Crushers G.C. captain got up to at Indianapolis Motor Speedway either. He was also given the opportunity to tee it up on the back stretch, and he did not hold back.
The Indy C.C. fairways were apparently running crispy this weekend, because on his Instagram, DeChambeau claimed he smoked the drive 500 yards.
Nothing helps pad those driving averages like a kick or two off the old ol’ cart path, amirite? Jokes aside, it looks like DeChambeau had a great time being a big kid at the Brickyard this weekend. Many golf fans would love to see him back on the PGA Tour when his LIV contract expires, but for now, we’re just along for the, ahem, ride.
