With Wednesday’s the inaugural Creator Classic now in the books, it didn’t take long for the PGA Tour pros to get back to creating the highlights at East Lake on Thursday. Ben An, in particular, wasted no time.
After hitting his opening tee shot of the Tour Championship way right, An needed to take a drop from the stands. But looking to avoid East Lake’s penal rough—and hoping to still give himself an angle to the first green for his approach—An chose to drop on a cart path. It proved to be a wise decision.
Check it out as An flushes one off the concrete, over some trees, and right at the pin before his golf ball ends up about 20 feet away on the back of the green:

I’m not sure architect Andrew Green had that in mind with his East Lake restoration, but wow. Even Phil Mickelson would have been impressed by that daring recovery shot.
An only managed par on the hole, but with a $100 million prize pool on the line, every shot is potentially worth a small fortune. At the very least, he wowed both fans—and YouTube golfers—everywhere.
