The UAE’s Jonathan Selvaraj fired a bogey-free 66 in the final round of the Arab Professional Championship, capturing the second edition of the event by two strokes at Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort El Jadida in Morocco.

This year’s edition marked the second time the Arab Professional Championship has taken place, following its successful debut in 2023. The championship was founded by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (RMGF), in collaboration with the Arab Golf Federation. The event’s core mission is to promote the development of professional golf in the Arab world, elevate the profiles of Arab players, and foster cultural exchange across the region.

Since its inception, the championship has rapidly become a cornerstone of Arab golf. It has provided a vital platform for regional players to showcase their skills while competing at the highest level, positioning them for future participation in prestigious international tournaments on the Asian Tour, DP World Tour, and other key global events.

Following a standout victory by Moroccan golfer Ayoub Lguirati in the first edition, the 2025 championship once again attracted top talent from across the region. Among the standout names were Saudi professionals Othman Al-Mulla and Saud Al-Sharif, both representing the Kingdom’s national team, with amateur players Abdulkarim Al-Najran and Ali Babatin competing for Saudi Arabia in the amateur category.

The UAE also had top performances from Joshua Grenville-Wood who finished in solo second, just two shots back from Selvaraj. With his fellow UAE National teammate, Sam Mullane signing for a tie in 6th spot, with seven Moroccan golfers finishing inside the top 10.

The success of this championship reflects the collaborative efforts between the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation and the Arab Golf Federation. Together, they continue to champion the growth of golf throughout the Arab world, promoting the sport, strengthening cultural ties, and creating a shared vision for Arab sports excellence.
