Rose Zhang. Elsa
From one Stanford Cardinal to another, Tiger Woods was quick to heap congratulations on Rose Zhang for winning her first professional start, defeating Jennifer Kupcho on the second hole of a playoff Sunday at the LPGA’s Mizuho Americas Open.
“Incredible few weeks for Rose Zhang, defends her NCAA title and then wins in her pro debut. Go Card,” Woods tweeted.

“Tiger Woods. Oh, my gosh,” Zhang said when told that Woods sent a congratulatory message. “That’s crazy. What can I say to that … It’s just so amazing that he’s even keeping up tabs with me.”
It had been 72 years since a player won her professional debut on the LPGA — Beverly Hanson won the 1951 Eastern Open. Zhang collected the $412,500 first-place prize.
