It was the ultimate climax, one virtually impossible to beat. Or even match. But having watched Suzann Pettersen make the last putt on the last green in the last match to win the Solheim Cup by the narrowest of margins, European captain Catriona Matthew is coming back for more.
The 2019 Solheim Cup will ultimately be remembered for Suzann Pettersen’s walk-off putt that gave Europe a thrilling victory over the U.S. at Gleneagles. But it also brought to a close the end of two extremely successful careers.
Suzann Pettersen was all anyone was talking about after she made her birdie putt on 18 to win the Solheim Cup for Europe on Sunday. Let’s not forget two other players who deserve a lot of the credit for Europe’s win.
