Pretty soon, Augusta National will be polishing the silverware and pre-heating the ovens for Scottie Scheffler’s second Masters Champions Dinner. But if your stomach is already grumbling, we have some good news:

LIV Golf has its own “Champions Dinner” now.

In the upstart tour’s latest attempt to distance itself from the golf establishment by first imitating the golf establishment, LIV Golf staged its 2024 LIV Champions Dinner at Sentosa Golf Club on Monday. The club welcomed LIV Singapore winners like Brooks Koepka and Talor Gooch—a romantic date, as some pointed out—with a parade of honour, including caddies wearing full white jumpsuits a la Augusta National, followed by a gourmet five-course meal curated by Koepka and his caddie Ricky Elliot.

Brooks Koepka / Instagram

Brooks Koepka / Instagram

The irony of the Masters-inspired feast is the fact it’s been almost exactly a year since LIV Golf formerly abandoned its bid for OWGR points, leaving its players to rely on past accomplishments (i.e. career major wins, a top-12 finish in the previous year’s Masters, the scraps of their world ranking points) or special invites in order to play the actual Masters.

Next year could look very different (or not, who knows!), but for now LIV is resigned to throwing its own tea party, stuffed animals and all. That might feel a bit embarrassing, especially for the likes of Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm and Dustin Johnson, who all have bona fide green jackets in their closets, but at least they won’t be going home hungry.
