This week marked LIV Golf’s fourth tournament of the 2026 season and the second stretch of playing three consecutive weeks in three different countries.

The usual cast of characters competed at Sentosa Golf Club for the fourth straight year, playing in the LIV Golf Singapore event with Bryson DeChambeau taking home $4 million for winning with a 14-under 274 total, beating Richard Lee in a playoff. Meanwhile, the 4Aces claimed the team title for the second straight event, splitting $3 million from the $30 million purse.

Jon Rahm entered as the individual points leader after winning in Hong Kong last week, his first victory anywhere in 18 months, and followed it up with a fifth-place showing in Singapore. Impressively, it was his first finish outside the top two in three previous tournaments this year.

Bryson DeChambeau emerged the winner on Sunday at LIV Golf Singapore, claiming his fourth career LIV title in a playoff at Sentosa Golf Club. But the outcome of this tournament will be remembered more for the heartbreaking way Richard T. Lee finished second.

Playing as a wildcard in the event and entering the fourth and final round one shot off the lead, Lee rallied to make four birdies on his final six holes to shoot a Sunday six-under 66 and take the clubhouse lead at 14 under par. The 35-year-old Canadian was matched when DeChambeau made birdie on his final hole to close out a 66 of his own.

On the first playoff hole, DeChambeau hit his tee shot in the water, seemingly opening the door for Lee to claim his first LIV title since earning membership in LIV Golf Promotions in January.

But Lee took a conservative approach on the par-5 18th, which gave him a 10-foot birdie try to win as DeChambeau was getting up-and-down for par. Only Lee raced that putt by and faced a short par putt to push the playoff to a second hole, only to stumble.

“I wanted to just hit it hard, and I hit it a little too hard,” Lee said. “I think the adrenaline was pumping a little bit. Then again, I felt like I had it this week. I played really well. Hopefully, next week I can try again.”

DeChambeau, normally not one to have trouble speaking his mind, was noticeably stunned by the outcome.

“What a day, that was crazy,” said the two-time major winner.

“Incredible relief,” DeChambeau eventually went on to say. “I haven’t won in four rounds since the U.S. Open 2024. Being able to come through on a golf course like this that’s super brutal and demands precision on every single shot, especially with the conditions changing, I couldn’t be more happy for my team.”

Despite the finish, Lee’s second-place showing was the best ever by a wildcard in LIV Golf history, besting a T-12 performance by Anthony Kim.

“[A win] would change a lot in my life, with my family,” said Lee entering the final round, his three previous LIV results T-13, T-37 and T-18 earning him a little less than $700,000. “Yeah, just playing with these guys in this big league, I think it would be a great honour to win.”

Lee took home $2.25 million for finishing second, the most money he’s ever earned in any single golf tournament.

Searching for an all-time best eighth LIV victory, Joaquin Niemann entered the final round with the lead for the fifth time in his career. The four previous times he closed things out for the title. But a final-round 71 left him three out of the playoff, behind DeChambeau, Lee and Lee Westwood.

Phil Mickelson has never shied away from making bold declarations. So his latest, which came in the form of an attention-grabbing reply on X/Twitter Sunday morning, is hardly surprising.

Still, even for Lefty, it’s a bit much. Of course, that’s depending on your view of LIV Golf, and whether or not 54-hole tournaments made up of 54-man fields are proper tests of golf. If you believe they are, then you might also believe that Joaquin Niemann is undoubtedly a top-10 player on the planet right now, the Chilean picking up his fifth LIV victory in Singapore on Sunday.

Top 10? Higher Bob, according to Phil. Well, lower, technically.

Top 5?
Try #1

Because LIV Golf events do not come with World Ranking points, Niemann currently sits at 81st in the world, his last counting result, a T-3, coming at the International Series India on the Asian Tour in February. Two months earlier, Niemann won the PIF Saudi International, also on the Asian Tour. Those two finishes saw him jump from 124th to 68th. At his peak, Niemann was 15th following a T-35 at the 2022 Masters.

Speaking of the Masters, Niemann will yet again be everyone’s “dark horse” pick now that he’s won twice on LIV in 2025 alone. The 26-year-old’s highest finish at Augusta National is a T-16 in 2023, which is also his highest finish in 22 career majors, a fact that his detractors were quick to point out Sunday morning.

A+ tweet from Will here, in fairness. In fairness times two, Mickelson had a fair reply. It’s an in-fairness off!

All true. Let’s keep these tweets and see what happens throughout this year.

Joaquin Niemann just keeps cruising. The 26-year-old from Chile shot a six-under 65 Sunday at Sentosa Golf Club to run away with the LIV Golf Singapore event, topping Brooks Koepka by five shots. Dustin Johnson, who was tied with Niemann entering the final round, ballooned to a 73 and tied for fifth place, eight shots back.

“Today was one of those days,” said Niemann, who won by three shots at LIV Golf Adelaide just a month ago. “Everything went my way.”

The victory is Niemann’s fourth LIV Golf title. He took home a $4 million first-place prize money payout for this win from the overall $20 million purse. Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs squad won its third consecutive team title this season. Abraham Ancer, Luis Masaveau and David Puig round out Garcia’s team, which will split $3 million for the victory.

“This week was a tough week because I’ve been sick all week and haven’t been able to help the team as much as I would have liked to,” said Garcia, who won the individual title last week in Hong Kong and tied for 32nd place in Singapore. “To see the performance that my teammates put in to be able to get this win was pretty impressive.”

The individual battle between Niemann and Johnson never materialized as Niemann birdied the first hole, then added four more during a five-hole stretch later on the front nine. He ended the week at 17-under-par total. Johnson made four bogeys in the first 11 holes and was out of contention at that point.

Niemann’s closest pursuer was Koepka, who birdied each of his first three holes—was five under after eight holes—and ended up shooting 65. He was the defending champion of the event in Singapore and finished the week at 12 under par.

“Not really hitting it great,” Koepka said, “but kind of tried to figure out how to finish second because first was obviously out of reach.”

Niemann now tops the league’s individual standings after four events, leading Jon Rahm and Garcia. Rahm shot a final-round 67—his 21st consecutive LIV Golf round under par—and tied for fifth place. Niemann hopes to continue his good form as his position in the rankings has him in line to earn an exemption into the U.S. Open in three months at Oakmont. The top player not already exempt into the U.S. Open field after the Korea event in early May will qualify. It’s the only major championship this year for which Niemann has not yet qualified.

“Obviously it’s one of the goals to qualify for the majors,” Niemann said. “Yeah, I feel like it just comes. Hopefully I can get that spot before Miami. I feel like that’s not my main focus. It’s obviously something that it would favor me if I play good golf, but like I said before, I’m here to make my team win, to get a good result for them and motivate them to do those good results.”

The league now will take a couple weeks off before heading to Doral in Miami the week before the Masters.

Always a relatively aloof character, Brooks Koepka neither confirmed nor dispelled rumors that he is seeking to leave the LIV Golf League in favour of a return to the PGA Tour. Which in and of itself might be telling.

“I’ve got nothing. Everybody else seems to know more than I do,” Koepka said Wednesday during a press conference ahead of this week’s LIV Golf League event in Singapore, responding to speculation that surfaced two weeks ago by former Masters champion Fred Couples, a close confidant.

“I talk to Brooks Koepka all the time. I love Brooks Koepka, and I’m not going to say anything extra except I talked to him all the time,” Couples said in a radio interview on KJR 93.3 FM in Seattle before adding a bit more that started speculation about Koepka’s status on LIV Golf. “He wants to come back. I will say that I believe he really wants to come back and play the tour.”

Koepka, a five-time winner on LIV after joining in 2022, did seem to leave the door open to the possibility of rejoining the tour, where the 34-year-old has nine career victories, including five major championships. The PGA Tour and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, which backs LIV, are in continued negotiations about an arrangement that could reunify the pro game, but no deal is imminent.

“I don’t know where I’m going, so I don’t know how everybody else does,” Koepka said. “Right now I’m just focused on how do I play better? How do I play better in the majors, how does this team win? And then we’ll figure out next year and how to play better again. It’s the same thing. It’s just a revolving cycle.

“Yeah, Fred texted me after, I guess, the comments came out,” he continued. “I don’t know when it was. Sometime last week. Yeah, everybody seems to have their own opinion, and no one asks me. I talk to Fred quite a bit, but we don’t go too much into detail about what’s going on. Like I’ve said before, I’m not in those rooms. I’ve got a contract obligation out here to fulfill, and then we’ll see what happens.”

It’s unclear if Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf runs through 2025 or beyond.

Koepka’s comments were more circumspect than those of reigning U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau, who last week denied rumors that he sought a return to the PGA Tour and expressed his continued support of LIV.

“I’m very excited about the future of LIV Golf,” DeChambeau said at LIV Golf Hong Kong. “I’m very excited to be the captain of the Crushers and continue our legacy that we’re starting to create. That’s my goal is to create this lasting legacy where we impact millions and millions of golfers’ lives around the world. That should tell you everything you should know.”

Pretty soon, Augusta National will be polishing the silverware and pre-heating the ovens for Scottie Scheffler’s second Masters Champions Dinner. But if your stomach is already grumbling, we have some good news:

LIV Golf has its own “Champions Dinner” now.

Brooks Koepka / Instagram

In the upstart tour’s latest attempt to distance itself from the golf establishment by first imitating the golf establishment, LIV Golf staged its 2024 LIV Champions Dinner at Sentosa Golf Club on Monday. The club welcomed LIV Singapore winners like Brooks Koepka and Talor Gooch—a romantic date, as some pointed out—with a parade of honour, including caddies wearing full white jumpsuits a la Augusta National, followed by a gourmet five-course meal curated by Koepka and his caddie Ricky Elliot.

Brooks Koepka / Instagram

Brooks Koepka / Instagram

The irony of the Masters-inspired feast is the fact it’s been almost exactly a year since LIV Golf formerly abandoned its bid for OWGR points, leaving its players to rely on past accomplishments (i.e. career major wins, a top-12 finish in the previous year’s Masters, the scraps of their world ranking points) or special invites in order to play the actual Masters.

Next year could look very different (or not, who knows!), but for now LIV is resigned to throwing its own tea party, stuffed animals and all. That might feel a bit embarrassing, especially for the likes of Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm and Dustin Johnson, who all have bona fide green jackets in their closets, but at least they won’t be going home hungry.

LIV Golf played back-to-back weeks, following last week’s successful Adelaide, Australia event with a stop in Singapore at Sentosa Golf Club. It was the seventh of 14 events on the league’s schedule.

Brooks Koepka shot a final-round 68 to win for the first time with son Crew in attendance and also became the first man to win four times on the circuit. He took home the usual $4 million check for his victory from the overall $20 million purse. Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC won the team championship and splits $3 million. Smith also tied for second place with fellow Aussie Marc Leishman. They were two behind Koepka.

RELATED: Koepka captures fourth LIV Individual title in Singapore

Before this week, the main story this year with LIV Golf wasn’t who won as much as who has not won. Joaquin Niemann has been the best player—and leads the individual standings—winning two of the first three events of the year. Five of six finishes has been inside the top nine.

Dustin Johnson won earlier in the year in Las Vegas, but hadn’t finished better than 21st place until a seventh-place tie in Singapore. Jon Rahm hasn’t won yet, but is second in standings. He hasn’t finished worse than 10th place in all seven events.

Other winners include Abraham Ancer, Dean Burmester and Brendan Steele, who won his first LIV title last week in a crazy scene in Australia.

The tour now takes a month off, as the PGA Championship is in two weeks for the eligible players, including defending champion Koepka. The league heads to the Golf Club of Houston in Texas in early June.

Here is the prize money rundown for all players this week in Singapore.

While Ripper GC rode the momentum of last week’s home victory to a second straight team title Sunday at LIV Golf Singapore, Smash GC Captain Brooks Koepka lit the fuse of a hot streak he hopes will produce a successful title defence at the upcoming PGA Championship.

And a wholesome celebration to match #LIVGolf @SmashGC pic.twitter.com/x8QyljWDiN

Led by captain Cameron Smith and veteran Marc Leishman, the all-Australian Rippers overcame any concerns of a hangover effect after their emotional victory in Adelaide, shooting a final-round counting score of 10 under at Sentosa Golf Club to win by three strokes over Fireballs GC and Cleeks GC as the 2024 season reached its halfway point.

“I kind of knew all year that we were going to get the ball rolling at some point,” said Smith, whose team finished at 32 under and moved to third in the season-long points standings. “I think internally that we’re the best team out here, and we’re going to be tough to beat when we all have our best stuff.”

Certainly, when Koepka has his best stuff, he’s nearly impossible to beat. On Sunday, he shot a 3-under 68 to finish at 15 under for a two-stroke victory over Smith and Leishman, in the process becoming the first player in LIV Golf history to win four individual tournament titles. He’ll head into the PGA Championship at Valhalla in two weeks feeling confident about his chances to win a sixth career major.

“It’s all starting to come around,” said Koepka, who became the first active LIV Golf player to win a major with his victory last year at Oak Hill. “I like the way things are trending.”

Koepka started the day with a three-shot lead, but a variety of challengers closed the gap throughout the round. Koepka never gave up the lead, though, and he bounced back from his only bogey – a three-putt at the ninth – with a birdie.

A late Leishman birdie moved the Aussie within a shot, but a bogey on his final hole gave Koepka a two-shot lead going into the par-5 18th, and he played conservative to avoid the water on the finishing hole.

“I felt the heat, but it was mainly because of how hot it was,” Koepka said. “Just played very consistent, missed it in the right spots. When you’re playing with a lead, you do that. You don’t have to force anything.”

Nobody celebrates like @rippergc_ #LIVGolf pic.twitter.com/ap6xfe8ywN

The Rippers started the day one stroke back of Smash but grabbed the lead 11 holes into the round when Smith and Leishman heated up. The captain was six under during a 10-hole stretch en route to a 7-under 64, which tied for the lowest round of the day. Leishman was 5 under during a nine-hole stretch as he shot a 66. Matt Jones had a 70 while Lucas Herbert shot a 74 but steadied the ship after suffering a double bogey on his sixth hole.

“It’s amazing,” Jones said. “Last week was a very special week for us, but to come out here this week and do it again, it’s really special.”

The vibe was certainly different than a week ago when the Rippers had 94,000 Aussies hanging on their every shot. But the outcome was the same.

“It was certainly a challenge,” Leishman said of fighting the hangover effect. “It might have been a blessing in disguise. Yes, we partied pretty hard for a couple of days, but then we all had Tuesday off. I don’t know if many of us left our hotel rooms.

“And I think conserving energy this week was pretty important, particularly for the end of the week when everyone is worn out. We were worn out, but I think just taking it so easy early in the week might have helped us just to have that little bit of mental strength that it took to get across the line.”

In two weeks, Koepka will try to make it two straight PGA Championship wins. And next month in Houston, the Rippers will try to make it three consecutive LIV Golf team titles.

“It’s probably a good thing to have a couple of weeks off,” said Smith. “It’ll be another hot one in Houston. We all love the heat. I think we’ve all played that golf course before. We’re looking forward to getting there and keeping the momentum rolling.”

TEAM COUNTING SCORES

Standings and counting scores for Sunday’s final round of the team competition at LIV Golf Singapore. The three best scores from each team count in the first two rounds while all four scores count in the final round. The team with the lowest cumulative score after three rounds wins the team title.
