Mere minutes after Golf Digest published a feature on Alejandro Tosti entitled, “He’s been labeled golf’s bad boy. But does golf have Alejandro Tosti all wrong?” the 28-year-old from Argentina stepped on the tee at the infamous par-3 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass, on the eve of the Players Championship.
Well, see for yourself what happened.
Come for the ace … Stay for the swim! 💦

Just as Collin Morikawa’s caddie JJ Jakovac did earlier to win the annual caddie closest to the pin competition, Tosti hit his tee shot beyond the hole, saw the ball check up and roll back and into the bottom of the cup. The gallery was thinning as it was later in the afternoon, but the celebration was still wild.
Tosti was ecstatic and walked over near the edge of the tee box, dangerously close to the pond. Someone who was walking inside the ropes with him, perhaps a coach or family member, walked over to Tosti and shoved him into the water. Tosti went flying.
It was a fun moment. We’re guessing Tosti didn’t mind having to walk to the green, retrieve his ball from the hole and then play the 18th hole while soaking wet. Reports are that he told some nearby that it was the first ace of his career.
Tosti is off Thursday at 9:41 a.m. ET with Isaish Salinda and Aldrich Potgieter for the first round of the Players. And be sure to check out the feature on him from Joel Beall, who does a wonderful job of explaining everything Tosti has gone through during his life, from growing up in Argentina to his time at the University of Florida and now on the PGA Tour.
