Jumeirah Golf Estates hosted the Lincoln Dubai Golf Pro-Am Series at the weekend, with 28 teams of four competing over a hot Earth Course in a friendly best two from four Stableford competition. The tournament ran alongside a strokeplay event for 29 UAE PGA professionals.

The overall prize winners of the team event were the team lead by professional Tim Backhouse, David Warham, Adam Hodgkins and Zak El Taher who scored an impressive 18-under.

The runners up with a score of 16-under were professional Purna Sharma, Ben Li, Sarwant Saini and Damian Saini. Despite a tremendous effort they came up just two points short of the leaders.

In third place were Oscar Yeomans, Noel O’Leary, Kieran Casey, and Steve Drake, while Stephen Wilson, Mark Schoombie, Alan McNamara and Raymond Beard took fourth spot.

The scoring in the professional division was excellent considering the difficult pin positions that were in play.

The winner was Michael Bolt of the Claude Harmon III Academy, with and impressive three-under 69.

Runner up was Jackson Bell and Diarmaid Fraser third. Tied for fourth place were Stephen Wilson, Stuart Fee, Purna Sharma and Malcolm Young.

Steffan Jones, Golf Services Manager, said: “Congratulations to all the winners on their fantastic performance. It’s a pleasure for us to host the series here at Jumeirah Golf Estates, however we must thank both the amateurs and the professionals for their participation.”

Meanwhile, JGE also hosted the Park Hyatt Dubai Ladies in a Best two from four better-ball Stableford format over the Fire Course.

Valerie Darnault, Juliette Castell, Rim Sun Lee and Evelyn Downham were the wining team with a score of 86 points.

Second place went to Sheila McIlroy, Lorraine Martensson, Sarah Blomfield & Claudia Kilcullen on 82 points
