Brooks Koepka. TNT

By now you’ve probably heard the news: Brooks Koepka? Huge Florida Panthers fan. Absolutely massive Ps guy. PGA Championships and Panthers, that’s what Brooks does. So far this week we’ve seen Koepka at Game 3 of the Panthers-Hurricanes and Game 4 of Heat-Celtics, and on Wednesday night — less the 24 hours before the putts drop at LIV Golf DC — he was back at FLA Live Arena with a series sweep and the Panthers’ first-ever Stanley Cup Finals berth on the line.

The stakes were high, but the eighth-seeded Panthers delivered, clinching their franchise’s first Prince of Wales trophy in 27 years with winning goal in the waning seconds to send the good people of Sunrise, Florida — including the 2023 PGA champ — through the roof. Everybody go nuts.

The Panthers scraped into the playoffs as the final wild card back in April, but Sergei Bobrovsky got hot and the bounces went their way as the Ps carved through the best regular-season team in NHL history, the perennial second-favourite Toronto Maple Leafs, and then everybody’s uncle’s dark horse, the Carolina Hurricanes. The win on Wednesday night was the franchise’s first-ever series-sweep.

Needless to say, it’s all coming up Koepka. And honestly, despite all the LIV hand-wringing done on this site and many others over the past 12 months, you love to see it. We guess it’s true what they say about sports:

Winning fixes everything, and Koepka is doing a hell of a lot of winning right now. Consider yourselves warned, DC.
