Former U.S. President Donal Trump has escaped a second assassination attempt, this time at his own Trump Organisation property, Trump International Golf Club in Florida.
Trump was playing the 228 yard, par three fifth hole at the time on Sunday afternoon, which borders the property when the attack happened, coming just nine weeks after he survived another attempt on his life.
The suspect was spotted after the U.S. Secret Service, who were looking after Trump, noticed an AK-47 style sticking out of a bush. After security fired, the gunman dropped the rifle along with two backpacks, a scope used for aiming and a GoPro camera, fled the scene in an SUV.

The male was apprehended in a neighbouring county with US media, including the BBC’s US partner CBS, having named the suspect as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, a pro-Ukraine activist.
In an email to supporters since the attempted attack, Trump said: “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumours start spiralling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!” He wrote: “Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!”
The Jim Fazio-designed course has previously hosted the LPGA Tour, the Aramco Team Series and was Donald Trump’s first golf course property he owned.
