Xander Schauffele might have just accidentally solved the male loneliness epidemic. All you have to do is be a major champ and multi-millionaire, hit an errant drive at a signature event and then treat the unlucky fan it hit to dinner.

According to Reddit, the No. 3 golfer in the world hit a woman with a tee shot on Saturday at TPC River Highlands. He then went above and beyond to make it up to her, handing her a $100 bill for dinner. Schauffele has been a constant on our Nicest Guys on Tour list over the years, so we have no trouble believing this.

Story from the Travelers

“I was at the travelers this Saturday and on [hole] 15 Xander’s tee shot hit a women in the leg,” writes r/golf user Billsandgolf. “He went over and signed the glove ‘sorry’ then he pulls out an 100$ bill from his bag and gives it to her and says dinner is on him. Class Act. Hit a great chip after that as well.

“Yeah that woman was actually super casual about it. I can’t say I wish it wasn’t me hit though. Not for the money but just would be a cool interaction.”

Class act, indeed! A signed glove and an apology would be enough from most players, but Schauffele went all out for this banged-up patron. Also, we need to add that being able to pull a $100 bill from your golf bag is quite the baller move. Most of us haven’t won nearly $60 million from playing golf, but a crisp 100 leaves quite the impression. Much better than the $5 bill and two singles crumpled up in my wallet.

Good on you, Schauffele. He may not have won the Travelers Championship, but he did you win the hearts of every fan who witnessed this. Also, we must note that Xander Schauffele is happily married. Single pros, best of luck hitting the ball into crowds and hoping that it turns into a dinner date.
