Need A Golf Lesson? Try The New Peter Cowen Academy Dubai at Dubai Golf

Dubai Golf have teamed up with legendary swing guru Pete Cowen to launch the Peter Cowen Golf Academy in Dubai. Having held a long association with Cowen that dates back over a decade, the partnership will enhance the level of teaching opportunities available at both Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.

Cowen, whose vaunted list of past and present clients includes major winners Henrik Stenson, Louis Oosthuizen, Graeme McDowell, Darren Clarke, Sergio Garcia and Danny Willett, has some ambitious plans to help grow the sport from a grass roots level.

“I want to get more Emiratis and UAE citizens playing and enjoying the game of golf, and hopefully then we can get more players from this region becoming professional golfers,” said the Yorkshireman, who has become regarded as the ‘go-to’ option for any European Tour player struggling with his swing mechanics.

The Peter Cowen Golf Academy Dubai marks the first international location of the Academy, progressing from the original facility in Rotherham, UK. Golf professionals at the academies at both Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club will be teaching the ‘Peter Cowen method’ and passing on signature, world-leading Peter Cowen drills.

These are the techniques that players on tour will swear by, and Cowen’s results speak for themselves. As recently as 2016 the veteran instructor enjoyed a vintage year, with his charge Danny Willett upsetting Jordan Spieth to win a green jacket, Henrik Stenson putting on a ball striking clinic to claim the Claret Jug with one of the greatest rounds ever in a major and both Chris Wood and Matt Fitzpatrick landing huge titles.

The partnership between Dubai Golf and Cowen will bring his tour-proven coaching philosophies and methods to the members and guests of Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.

“I have been coming to Dubai and Emirates Golf Club for a number of years now and I am very proud of my association with the club,” adds Cowen. “The launch of the Peter Cowen Golf Academy Dubai will be a place for all to come to get the most out of their golf game, whether they are beginners or elite players. The facilities at Emirates Golf Club are unparalleled to anywhere in the world, and the players who I work with around the time of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic love to use the club and the facilities. It is fantastic that the relationship has now been extended to Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club and I look forward to continuing my relationship with Dubai Golf for many years to come.”

For Dubai Golf, it represents an opportunity to take the coaching facilities to the next level and inspire growth at grass roots level. “The Peter Cowen Golf Academy Dubai will represent the latest in teaching philosophies that will enhance Dubai Golf’s member and guest experiences at both Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club” said Christopher May, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Golf.

“Dubai Golf has always invested in its coaching but the new Peter Cowen Golf Academy will take this to the next level and make the club a destination for world-class lessons and instruction,” added Stephen Deane, Emirates Golf Club Head Golf Professional. “Peter’s reputation as the world’s leading golf coach will greatly benefit the club, its members and its guests. Players who adopt his method see an instant improvement in their game and the knowledge Peter will pass to the professionals here will ensure their skills are cutting edge and world class.”
